Health and Transportation "Picks"

Members of the Health and Transportation Subcommittee went through the TRB online program looking for events that are relevant to the group's interests. We hope that these "picks" will help our members get more out of TRB. This selection is by no means an exhaustive list, and it is not meant to constitute an endorsement, but merely to serve as a guide to Annual Meeting attendees.

These sessions were selected using these topic areas:
  • Social exclusion/inequality/social cohesion
  • Transportation equity
  • Studies of physical, mental and other social health impacts of transportation
  • Health impact assessment
  • Food environments
  • Safety
  • Metrics and indicators related to public health
  • Adverse health effects of freight and aviation
  • Active transportation
  • Auto use and parking as it relates to public health
  • Including public health in transportation decision making
  • Economics and policy of transportation as it relates to public health
  • Public transit as it relates to public health
  • Mobility as it relates to public heath (e.g., in rural areas; as it relates to psychosocial factors)
  • Accessibility as it relates to public health
